Vice President of Marketing

Position Summary:

  • Develop and implement the marketing plan for the organization promoting products and services to existing and prospective members, protecting the brand, assuring innovative and cost-effective methods for increasing a positive awareness of the Credit Union in the community. Responsible for creating and/or managing aspects of marketing for the credit union including the following: promotion of all products and services, member relations, business development activities, marketing budget, marketing collateral and other printed or digital materials, branch merchandising, both internet/intranet sites, and social media presences. Work with team to create and implement projects, promotions and materials that will favorably project the credit union's image while remaining consistent with the SWACU brand.

  • Manage direct reports to maximize productivity, efficiency, and the potential of the human assets of SWACU including: hiring, directing job assignments, monitoring staff performance, coaching, counseling, training, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values, policies and work rules. Appraise performance and provide recommendations for staff compensation, promotion, and termination, as appropriate. Prepare, present, and adhere to annual budget for department.

  • Evaluate and execute the media mix used to market the Credit Union to ensure use of the most appropriate, cost-effective communication of the brand, products, and services. Oversee the development and maintenance of business relationships with third-party vendors, such as advertising agency, freelance creative providers and media outlets to successfully achieve the strategies outlined in the Marketing Plan; negotiate contracts favorable to the Credit Union's interests, assure that third-party vendors are managed in a manner that supports their to delivery of concepts and creative materials consistent with the Vision of the organization.

  • Participate in a variety of public affairs, community activities, and media events which provide information vital to the identification of additional products or services which would be attractive to both current and prospective members; utilize numerous contact points with the public to educate them about the various products and services available through the Credit Union. Serve as media spokesperson for the Credit Union assuring a strong and consistent message and brand recognition for the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration or other related field
  • 5 Years of experience in a supervisory role in marketing, advertising and/or public relations
  • 7 Years of extensive knowledge of media management
  • Advanced experience implementing direct marketing activities
  • Advanced understanding of marketing mediums and social media channels
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Publisher) and graphics programs
  • Experience with strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources

This is an in-office position, Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
