Business Development Representative

Southwest Airlines Federal Credit Union is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Representative to join our team. In this role, you will interact within the community—developing partnerships, increasing brand awareness, and expanding our membership base. Position Summary:

The Business Development Representative position is responsible for increasing membership, loans, and overall brand visibility through a combination of strategic outreach, partnership building, and marketing campaign support.

Acting as the credit union’s ambassador, while also driving and supporting initiatives that strengthen our market presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development & Sales Outreach
  • Identify, secure, and maintain relationships with Select Employer Groups (SEGs).
  • Conduct presentations, benefit fairs, and on-site visits to promote credit union membership and services.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of prospects and track all outreach efforts.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and annual growth targets for membership, new accounts, and loans.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create and execute campaigns that support business development goals.
  • Develop and deliver promotional materials, presentations, and digital content to members.

  • Partnership & Member Engagement
  • Serve as the primary liaison for business partners, providing resources to promote membership benefits.
  • Work closely with internal departments to ensure new members and partners receive a seamless onboarding experience.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to recommend new growth opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide reports of various statistics, contacts and business development activities.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in the field of marketing or advertising.
  • Two years previous experience in a professional sales or public relations environment.
  • Understanding of networking and public relations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship -building, public speaking and communication skills.
  • Strong organization and project management abilities.
  • Ability to travel locally and stateside 2-10 days a month.
  • Work occasional evenings for events.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of credit union culture, products, services.
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities to serve diverse communities.
  • Experience in event planning, sponsorship activation, or community outreach.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods during events.
  • Must be able to lift and transport event/marketing materials up to 25 lbs.

Work Environment

  • This role includes both office-based work and frequent off-site visits for events, presentations, and partner meetings.

Schedule:

8:30 am-5:00 pm M-F. This is an in-office position

Salary:

We offer a competitive base salary along with performance incentives for meeting and exceeding growth goals.
